Is the Gregorian Calender an honor to pagan Roman gods? Is it Bible based or something used to worship foreign gods?
Author and researcher, Yahunde Batakane takes us back to its origins and explores it's shortcomings when it comes to observe our time in nature and according to God's word. His book, Our Bantu Calender, from Sunset to Sunset, My people who are called by my name, he looks at how the ancient Africans used nature and God's word, the Bible to tell time and seasons.
His research is based on historical practices, parallel traditions that resonate with the Bible and laws of nature.
He questions the logic of the Gregorian calender from its, strange begins, which speak not to the natural order of things.
This interview will open your eyes to see the far reaching consequences of colonialism and will hopefully help you towards a free thinking approach to how as Africans we need to back to our ways of doing things.
This year I have decided to dedicate a playlist to all things permaculture. in a historic decision, the UN’s international court of justice has ordered Israel to ensure its forces do not commit acts of genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.
In an interim judgment delivered on Friday, the president of the court, Joan Donoghue, said Israel must 'take all measures within its power' to prevent acts that fall within the scope of the genocide convention and must ensure 'with immediate effect' that its forces do not commit any of the acts covered by the convention. The court stopped short of granting South Africa’s request to order an immediate ceasefire.
